Connolly Ranch Field Trips are a unique and special experience for students and teachers alike.
Our field trip curriculum was developed within our discovery-based curriculum, which focuses on cultivating students’ 21st Century Learning Skills (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication) in an outdoor environment.
We offer engaging, hands-on, farm-based educational experiences designed to meet the highest standards from preschool through 8th grade.
A field trip to Connolly Ranch allows teachers to give their students a unique experience that aligns with their educational goals. Our discovery- and collaboration-based approach works to evoke children’s curiosity and imagination.
2026/27 Field Trip Scholarships
Applications are now open!
Thanks to a generous grant from Community Projects, Connolly Ranch Education Center is offering $300–$1,500 in scholarship funding per class for TK–8th-grade classes in Napa County. Scholarships provide full or partial funding for Connolly Ranch’s seasonal and farm-to-table field trips, helping make hands-on, 100% outdoor, screen-free learning more accessible to local students.
Applications are open August 21–September 30, 2026, or until scholarship funds are fully committed. We encourage schools to apply early.

Learn More About Our Field Trips:
Fall 2026, Field Trips are offered on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In 2027, we'll expand to Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Every field trip includes seasonal lessons, hands-on activities, outdoor free play, plus time for a snack and lunch.
Please note, High Occupancy Numbers (51-75), you will need to book for Thursdays.

Field Trip FAQ
A Welcome Letter will be sent to your school a couple of weeks before your scheduled field trip with everything you need to know to prepare for your visit. This will include important details about arrival and transportation, what students and chaperones should bring, what to wear, expectations for the day, and how to prepare your group for their time at Connolly Ranch. Teachers will also receive a Chaperone Letter to share with parent chaperones before the visit.
What information will we receive before our field trip?

We recommend approximately 1 chaperone for every 8–10 students. Chaperones attend at no additional cost.
How many chaperones should we bring?

No. We are unable to accommodate children who are not part of the registered school group.
Can chaperones bring younger siblings or additional children?

What if it rains?

Field trips happen rain or shine. Please check the forecast before your visit and make sure students arrive prepared with appropriate rain gear.
Where do we go when we arrive?

A Connolly Ranch staff member will greet your group at your designated arrival location. Your transportation instructions will be included in your field trip information.
